Doug Ringenberg grew up on a Florida beach and has spent most of his adult life with a mountain view — geography that shapes his work in dimensional clay painting, a hybrid of bas-relief, acrylic paint, and epoxy glaze. His impressionistic landscapes and architectural scenes sit between representation and contemporary abstraction. A career cardiac surgical assistant by trade, Ringenberg has made art since childhood and is now turning toward the studio full-time, with a new gallery show in progress.
